TOP OF UTAH HALF MARATHON!

After a summer of training we finished the half marathon. I finished in 2 hours 26 minutes which was 171 out of 243 in my age division and 599 out of 770 of all the women in the race and 952 out of 1315 in the whole race. Dan finished 23 out of 64 in his age division, 156 out of 383 of all men, 254 out of 1315 in the whole race. The longest time someone took was 3 hour sand 58 minutes fastest time for a male was 1 hour 6 minutes, for a female 1 hour and 21 minutes. Dan did great and got a great time. I am slower runner, but in my defense I ran the first 8 miles in 10 1/2 minute miles, after that my hip was hurting to bad to keep up the pace--but I did run the whole time.
It is nice to finally be done with this race. It was fun and fun to have so many friends do it with us. Soott, Becky, Sara, Jo it was nice making this memory with you. Rodney thanks for being our driver and camera guy.

Five things I hated about running TOU/2
1. getting up at 5:00 am
2. going to the bathroom in the "where you go we go" potties.
3. running up hill from mile 10-11 1/2
4. wanting to stop a cry at mile 10
5. getting passed by a very old man

Five things that made running 13.1 miles a good memory
1. saying that I did it
2. running with 5 other people who trained hard all summer
3. running down hill with the wind behind me out of the canyon
4. doing something I never thought I would EVER do
5. now I can tell me kids about anything "I know it is scary and hard, but you can do it"

Katelynn's First Day of First Grade

Katelynn is in first grade. She loves it and says that lunch and recess are her favorite parts of the day...a typical grade schooler. Her cousin is in her school this year and is a year older. It is nice to have somebody there to watch out for Katelynn. I made it through the first week, I mean she made it through the first week so everything should get into a good routine now.
