Kate's Violin Recital

Katelynn had her summer violin recital last week. It is fun to see how much she has improved. She puts a lot of practicing in. She did a great job at her recital!

The Girls Dance recital was last Saturday. It is so fun to see them all dressed up and on stage. They each did two dances and had so much fun.

a few irritating things in this video: While I don't know the people that keep walking in front of me, it is my baby crying in the background:)

Violin Recital May 2011

Kate did such a good job at her violin recital last night. We are so glad Sharon is her teacher, she does such a good job and Katelynn loves taking lessons from her!

Summer Recital

I think Katelynn's favorite part of violin lessons are the recitals.

I love how in this song she rarely looks at the violin, she is looking at all the people watching her.

This is a duet she did with another of Sharon's students, It was fun to see her play with someone else. She again isn't looking at her violin, but that is only because of the MANY hours she has practiced, she knows these songs very well.

Saturday Sewing Day

The summer has been so busy that I haven't done hardly any of the crafts and activities that I had planned on doing with the girls. So Saturday was a sewing day. I don't sew very often so once a year or so I just get all of my projects done. I tried to let Kate and Lexy do almost the whole thing themselves. They had a lot of fun ironing and sewing. I wanted Kate to pass it off for one of her Faith in God goals, so here is her display of what she did.

With the baby coming in October I decided I had better start doing something to prepare. So I made these burp clothes (for some reason most of mine from the other kids have disappeared) and a car seat cover that is also a nursing cover (both of which are new to the crafting world, it seems, since I had Colby). They were pretty easy, but considering my sewing experience took me longer than what they should have. (I only had to unpick 2 or 3 times and only cut the fabric wrong twice:))
